Tanita Scale has been tested for accuracy through
independent research at several universities and research organizations
(including Columbia University in New York) and has been found to be accurate
within + / - 5 percent of DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), which is
known as the gold standard in body fat percentage monitoring.
Note: the Tanita Scale is not recommended for anyone with
a pacemaker. Although there are
no known health risks involved, this is a precaution recommended by all
manufacturers of BIA.
