Green Detox Soup ... Super healthy & delicious too!

Green Detox Soup health benefits

Fruits and vegetables are at the heart of the Detox Programs I promote. Supplementation can also be a powerful component in detoxification, but you can't beat the detox power of fruits and vegetables.

And one of the most delicious ways of getting a powerhouse of nutrients in a meal is to have a delicious soup and this Green Detox Soup meets all the requirements of a Super Food.

The ingredients in the soup have been specially chosen for their detoxification super powers ... they are extremely supportive to all the detoxification pathways in the body, but especially of the liver.

The liver is one of the main detoxification organs in the body and it has a hard time coping with all the toxins we deal with on a daily basis and eating extra nutritious foods like this Green Detox Soup is a wonderful (and delicious) way of supporting the liver's detoxification processes.

And although it isn't mentioned specifically in the recipe below, if you are able to source organic produce for this soup, it is even better.

Green Detox Soup

 1 small head of Broccoli                           Handful of Broccoli sprouts

1 onion, chopped                                      Chopped Chives (to taste)

Sea Salt, Pepper,Turmeric                         Kale (3 leaves)

Fresh basil, mint and oregano                 ½ cup cilantro                                      

½ cup fresh parsley                                 1 tbsp. extra virgin coconut oil   

1 clove of garlic, minced                         1 litre homemade chicken broth          

1 lemon juiced                                            ½ cup fresh dandelion greens

½ avocado                                                    1 small apple          

 

Instructions

·   Sauté garlic and onions in coconut oil, then add broccoli, chives, basil, oregano and kale and sauté until soft 

·   Add homemade chicken broth to vegetables and simmer for 20 minutes

· Then add the broccoli sprouts, fresh parsley, cilantro, dandelion greens, mint, avocado and the juice of 1 lemon and remove the apple

·   Blend soup until smooth

 Note:  Vegetarians can substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth, however, there are important nutrients in homemade chicken broth that are very healing to the digestive system.
