Yes, You Can Stop Food Cravings!


Learning how to stop food cravings in their track is one of the most powerful secrets to permanent weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle.  Why?  So that eating healthy, nutritious food becomes enjoyable once again.  Once the food cravings are gone, it becomes easier to avoid eating junk food.  Your taste begins to change so that eating junk food ceases to interest you. 

In particular, food cravings are very powerful for people who are insulin resistant, leptin resistant,sugar intolerant, diabetic or suffer from Candida. 

Bringing your body back to its natural state of balance and health will have a huge impact and will help you to stop food cravings. 

Following the strategies of the two Detox Programs in the "Detoxing for Wellness" Website is a great way to accomplish this. 

Here are just a few tips to help you to stop food cravings:

  1. Eat protein and healthy Essential Fatty acids at each meal and snack (balance insulin and glucagon secretion)
  2. Increase amount of healthy Essential Fatty Acids (especially Omega-3 EFAs like Flaxseeds or cold water fish).  Eliminate trans-fats and junk food.
  3. Exercise gently and moderately and lift weights
  4. Don’t diet, restrict calories, skip meals or go too long without eating.  (Optimally, try to eat 3 small meals plus snacks and eat every 3 – 4 hours.  Don’t wait until you are hungry to eat because your hunger will trigger food cravings.)
  5. Eat more cold-water fish (salmon, tuna, sardines, and mackerel).
  6. Eat a salad with salad dressing at most meals (eat at least 2 cups of vegetables per day).  Research has shown that salads with acidic salad dressings like vinegar, lime and lemon and olive oil eaten with meals lowers blood glucose levels.  Berries also have lowering effect on blood glucose levels. 
  7. Eat a healthy soup made with homemade bone broth with at least one meal (or snack) per day (the free recipe book that comes with the Detox Programs include many delicious homemade soups that help to stop food cravings, lose weight and improve your health and Gut Microbiome)
  8. Alleviate stress through meditation, relaxation techniques, deep breathing, yoga, etc.
  9. Make sure you eat sufficient amounts of fiber everyday.  Minimum intake of fiber is approximately 30 to 40 grams per day.

So why follow a Detox Program to stop food cravings?

By following these detox programs, your body will naturally be releasing trapped fluids and toxins from your tissues, leaving you feeling much less bloated than usual.  A lot of the weight loss you will experience in the first few days will be excess fluid and toxins which is very good.  You will also notice that your bowel movements are more frequent (up to 2 – 3 times per day). 

Following a healthy detox program is very different from following a weight loss program.  Most weight loss programs are more concerned with the amount of calories you eat each day, rather than the quality of the food that you eat.

The two “Detox for Wellness” Detox Programs don’t focus on calorie counting at all.  These programs focus more on the quality of the food you are eating and the better the quality (meaning highly nutritious, healthy food) that you are eating, not only will you be able to lose weight healthily, but you will also improve your health, including reversing lifestyle health problems and symptoms you may have developed due to living in our modern toxic world.

So, yes these programs will stop food cravings, but they’ll do so much more!

So what are these detox programs?
